Resumen
The treatment of human diseases is always a latent problem and an urgent call to the scientific community, constituting a constant search for new and better therapies and technologies in health. The objective of this research was to evaluate the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of four concentrations of Alternanthera porrigens “moradilla” under laboratory conditions, a plant used in Peruvian natural medicine for gynecological diseases. Three different concentrations were carried out comparing them with a control. In addition, the analysis of variance and the mean comparison test were performed, determining that none of the concentrations presented cytotoxicity and genotoxicity. It was also determined that the concentration of “moradilla” stimulates cell division, maintaining the standard proportions of the different mitotic periods.
