Resumen

The research on micro- and nanoplastics (MPs/NPs) has made significant progress over time. Currently, standard methodologies for the analysis of MPs/NPs are yet to be established. Nonetheless, researchers are diligently working toward developing analytical methods that yield reliable results concerning the quantification and characterization of MPs/NPs. This chapter endeavors to offer a comprehensive summary and presentation of the aims and advancements pertaining to the quantification, identification, and characterization methods of MPs/NPs. The principal objective of this chapter is to furnish researchers with a valuable toolbox of analytical techniques in the field of MPs/NPs, thus facilitating further exploration and understanding of these contaminants.
