Resumen
This article explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) platforms as support in academic research and writing processes. Through an experimental approach, five tools were evaluated: Perplexity, Bing, Gemini, Claude, and ChatPDF. The primary objective was to assess their effectiveness in tasks such as summarization, searching and organizing academic sources, and locating information within documents. The research was motivated by the growing interest in academic applications of AI and the need to provide researchers with accessible and functional alternatives. The methodology involved performing specific tasks with each tool, enabling a comparative analysis of their capabilities and limitations. The article concludes with recommendations on the appropriate use of these technologies, along with a balanced assessment of their potential and constraints within the academic context. © Los autores.
