Resumen
The timely resolution of academic inquiries represents a challenge in higher education, particularly in research-oriented courses where students face difficulties accessing key information about guidelines, deadlines, and rubrics. This situation leads to delays, demotivation, and overload in faculty communication channels. Therefore, an artificial intelligence-based academic chatbot is proposed to manage frequent inquiries from undergraduate students in the university sector. The proposal is structured into four phases: requirements analysis, conversational flow design, technological integration using tools such as React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, and the OpenAI Assistants API, and validation through student testing. The solution is expected to reduce response times, increase student satisfaction, and promote more equitable access to academic resources. Experimental results showed that the AcadIA chatbot achieved high levels of effectiveness and acceptance, with average ratings above 4.5/5 in ease of use, clarity, and relevance, and an autonomous resolution rate exceeding 80%. In the pedagogical dimension, a positive impact was observed on students' autonomy and understanding, as they valued its usefulness in resolving doubts immediately and accessing official resources. Overall, the results confirm its potential as an academic support tool that enhances the learning experience and optimizes interaction between students and the institution.
