Resumen
The generation of agricultural waste poses a significant challenge today, as its improper management has negative impacts on the environment and the economy. This study analyzes trends in the recovery of this waste from a circular economy perspective, a strategy that allows it to be transformed into resources and integrated into the production cycle. The research followed a non-experimental cross-sectional methodology, adhering to the PRISMA statement guidelines. The literature search was conducted in the Scopus, Scielo, and Google Scholar databases, considering articles published since 2020. From an initial total of 547 studies, 23 articles were selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria related to waste type, methodological quality, practical applicability, and connection to the circular economy. The results show a predominance of technologies aimed at the production of bioenergy and materials, such as anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis, and biorefinery. However, limitations were identified in industrial scalability, techno-economic integration, and technology adoption processes. Furthermore, gaps were evident in the availability of territorial information and in the incorporation of social and digital factors into waste management. As a contribution, the review proposes an integrative approach based on the articulation between technologies, value-added applications, and circular business models.
