Resumen
Mars missions often face the challenge of efficiently entering orbit due to the planet’s thin atmosphere and the need for precise orbital adjustments. This paper proposes an innovative approach to aerocapture-a technique that uses atmospheric drag to slow spacecraft and achieve orbital insertion. By refining aerocapture technology, we can reduce fuel consumption, increase mission payloads, and shorten mission timelines. The proposed advancements in aerocapture design focus on optimizing heat shield materials, trajectory algorithms, and spacecraft maneuverability. These innovations could revolutionize how missions approach Mars, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective solution for long-duration exploration and future manned missions. The implementation of these technologies would not only improve Mars mission efficiency but could also serve as a benchmark for other planetary explorations in the future.
