Resumen

The present stabilization study aims to analyze and recognize the addition of chemical stabilizers of road construction entities to improve soil properties. The additives that were evaluated are Portland Cement and Terrasil, these stabilizing materials are made of limestone rocks and organic enzymes, being their main properties to increase the support of the analyzed soil. The purpose of this study is to determine how these additives through their dosages influence the increase of the bearing capacity or (CBR) in the subgrade soil of Peruvian highways. Considering the different regulations and procedures of the respective tests, in order to evaluate the performance of the two additives and determine if there is an increase of parameters in the mechanical characteristics foreseen in this soil study. Therefore, having collected the necessary data and having carried out the development of the research, it was found that in the 9 test pits performed and analyzed, an A-4 type soil with low plasticity predominates, with a natural moisture < 25% and an optimum moisture content of 10.79% maximum in C- 01, in addition to a maximum CBR of 21.4% and 28.9% at 100% of the M.D.S. in natural samples. Likewise, having evaluated the samples with Terrasil and Portland Cement additives in the selected test pits, a different characterization to the natural sample was obtained, changing to an A-4 type soil [6], in addition with 3% cement and 0.5 lt/m3 of Terrasil a maximum CBR (0.2“) of 69.30% was obtained in C- 03 and with 4% cement and 0.5 lt/m3 of Terrasil a maximum CBR (0.2”) of 141.60% was obtained in C- 03 at 100% of the M.D. S, likewise, having compared the results obtained from the natural sample and with additives for each selected test pit, it is demonstrated that there was a considerable increase in the bearing capacity of the soil and a change in its physical and mechanical properties. Finally, it is shown that using these additives for stabilization in one kilometer is favorably profitable, provided that the type of soil initially found is replaced by borrow material.
