Resumen
Surgical management of appendix neuroendocrine tumor after acute appendicitis is a rare entity that requires adequate histopathological and imaging analysis to define management and control. The histopathology of the case and the interpretation of images must be properly interpreted to define the best surgical option to adopt for adequate oncological management. We present the case of a woman who presents with abdominal pain in the right hemiabdomen, a clinical picture compatible with appendicitis. Laparoscopic appendectomy was performed without major interrecurrences, since tumors smaller than or equal to 1 cm only require appendectomy, as is the case. The histological diagnosis reveals neuroendocrine tumor of the appendix, the staging is done by imaging, showing ileocolic adenopathies suspicious of secondary pain. Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy was performed. The patient tolerated the operative act and presented a favorable evolution without signs of recurrence.
