Resumen
Web accessibility is an important practice to ensure equity in access to digital information. This study evaluated the accessibility of Peruvian provincial municipalities’ websites using an empirical approach. A total of 194 websites were analyzed using the TAW tool to extract accessibility metrics. The results showed a significant dispersion in accessibility levels, with no concentration on a specific level. The widespread lack of compliance with WCAG 2.0 level A criteria revealed the need for interventions in critical areas such as proper purpose of links and structuring of information. The assessment highlights the need to ensure transparency and equal access to digital government services.
