Resumen
The objective of the present study was to determine the association between academic burnout and sociodemographic variables in 156 engineering students who work and study at a private university. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (general version) and a sociodemographic sheet were used in the research. The results revealed that 80% of the students exhibit a moderate level of academic burnout. When analyzing emotional exhaustion and academic effectiveness, significant differences were observed, with women presenting more emotional exhaustion; On the other hand, men present more academic efficiency. Likewise, it could be seen that there are significant differences between total burnout and work hours. Significant differences were also found in the dimension of academic effectiveness depending on economic income.
