About men and their gods in the colonial andean world of the 17th century. A historical-anthropological approach to the region of Yauyos, s. XVII

Huaraj Acuña J.C. · Ciencia Nueva, Revista de Historia y Politica (2022) · DOI: 10.22517/25392662.24915

Resumen

The famous Manuscript of Huarochirí will serve as an introduction for this research note. Open reflections on the historical process of extirpation of idolatry for the first decades of the 17th century, during the process of colonial-Peruvian political and religious settlement. Would it be possible to speak of former indigenous ministers of the Andean cult as collaborators of Christian indoctrination? We believe that the role of those converts could be linked to work in the catechization of the new faith. This writing is particularly oriented to express a pertinent contribution to the subject.
