Resumen
The East Bridge, a steel arch spanning 292 meters over the Jiangxi River in Chengdu, China, integrates structural efficiency with aesthetic considerations. Its 152-meter main span follows a spatially curved alignment, introducing additional analytical challenges and necessitating specialized steel connections. To enhance structural performance and durability, joints reinforced with stiffening ribs were implemented, improving fatigue resistance and ensuring long-term stability. Given its urban setting, pedestrian comfort was a key aspect of the design. The bridge incorporates separated walkways, large planters, and a linear park, fostering a connection with the surrounding landscape while providing a pleasant user experience. Through this approach, the structure delivers a reliable transportation link while achieving visual harmony with its environment.
