Resumen
The well-known Friis equation can be seen as a simple equation of practical application in a wide spectrum of scenarios for antenna testing, a little literature exists as to the theoretical implications in classical electrodynamics. In this paper, we focus this point, by using a well-known methodology based in D'Alembert operator. To accomplish this, attention on the associated electric field has been paid. Thus, the resulting fields exhibit discontinuities that can be related to poles of its Green's function of Friis's equation. Although D'Alembert operator is an abstract piece of common usage in electrodynamics, it might be an interesting window to derive equations involving power, gain and wave specifications among other physical observables. Finally, conclusion of paper is given.
